Lots to report this month from the carpark family. The Animal Collective and Dinky are off to Europe this month. Avey Tare and Panda Bear from the Animal Collective will be in Belgium, France and the UK for a short while (check out www.paw-tracks.com for more info and dates.) Dinky will be in Europe until mid august! (Dates are on our live page) Dinky and yours truly will also be playing at the SONAR festival in Barcelona on june 14th.
Carpark family labels acute and paw tracks have big releases in june. Acute presents the long out of print classic "The Ascension" by Glenn Branca, and Paw Tracks brings you the Animal Collective "Here Comes the Indian".
Avey Tare and Panda Bear from the Animal Collective and Carpark's Ogurusu Norihide will be touring the US for six weeks starting July 1st. We hope to have the completed itinerary up for next month.
Greg Davis is hard at work completing his second full length "Curling Pond Woods" for a fall release. Other future Carpark releases include the Greg Davis/Hrvatski duo cd, a new Casino Versus Japan record, and maybe even a new Marumari cd.
Greg Davis and Hrvatski will tour Scandinavia this summer. Greg Davis, E*rock, and Lullatone (from the audio dregs label) will tour the US midwest and east coast this july. Dinky is planning on touring the US this fall...and if we're lucky maybe we'll get together another carpark tour before the year ends.
Marumari continues planning events and projects for their www.landarts.org foundation. June 13th they will host a live event in the boston area. Their compilation cd will feature such artists as mum, dj spooky, portastatic, the clientele, to rococo rot, casino versus japan, stars as eyes, greg davis and more!
The new Carpark website should be up this month!
